It’ll be great if you listen to the rest on music streaming sites. For Euphoria, I actually wanted to write the lyrics but I couldn’t write much. I was too busy then, during Fake Love era. I was supposed to write it but I didn’t and procrastinated. Many people ended up finishing it so my role was supervising and changing the words and pronunciation. I also wrote the bridge part. And “When I’m with you I’m in utopia”, “utopia” sounds close to “euphoria” so I added that line in. “I hear the sea from afar” (저기 멀리서 바다가 들려) was originally “I hear the waves from afar” (저기 멀리서 파도가 들려). There’s an anime called “I Can Hear The Sea”, a very romantic anime. I think its vibe and the emotions of this song corresponds well so I used the synesthetic imagery – we learned about this at school, didn’t we? – “hear the sea”. I changed it to “I hear the sea” and I think it was a good decision.

This song… I think you’re more curious about the behind story of this song. Jungkook worked on this song with exceptional affection for it. He must have recorded it so~~ many times. I first heard Euphoria’s guide and the lyrics and Jungkook’s recording more than a year ago, not the very beginning of last year but probably early last year? At that time, I kind of had some kind of prejudice towards Jungkook, unknowingly. If we combine Jungkook’s stable vibe and voice color and firmness with Jimin’s “edges”, it could create a wonderful. But actually, right now both of them are great at those feelings in both aspects that I thought they lacked in before, so I’m not worried.

Anyway, Euphoria felt like it’s a great song, but it’s a little bit uninteresting. I told Jungkook, “Try singing this song like you’re taking this song to lay in on your heart and filming a soda CF on the grass field under Jamsu Bridge in Han River. Wouldn’t it glaze the song with more emotions? I don’t know how much emotion you invested into this song, but we need to express it to the point it can shake the audience, and I hope you do that,” and “How about overdoing this?” As far as I know, Jungkook revised this over 6 times. The result came out, as you may know from listening to it, nearly perfect. It’s a perfect song that we can’t possible ask for anything better, from the lyrics, the melody to its singer. If you listen to this song, you’ll feel ecstastic. Euphoria is ecstastic as the word itself says. To be honest, when I listen to this song, you know the hamburger house with 4 letters? (Lotteria) [sings] “You’re the cause of my Lotteria” [laughs] Anyway this is a great song with many uses. Jungkook tried to fill up for parts he regretted in Begin with Euphoria.
